Top Reasons to Use the Hunter Client

  • Empowers the End User
    • Information Technology personnel are expensive.  In some cases, smaller organizations do not employ full time I.T. workers.  Hunter Client helps the end user retrieve the data without the need or help of I.T. personnel.
  • Increases End User Productivity
    • If an end user goes the traditional route; call I.T., have them build a report, etc., etc.  This lowers end user productivity.  Hunter Client can retrieve data within seconds.
  • Prevents End Users from Running Poor Queries
    • Hunter Client uses required criteria to prevent users from building or running queries that might be poorly constructed or retrieve too much data.
  • Automatically Exports Data to Tools End Users Know
    • Hunter Client can automatically send retrieved data to tools the end user is familiar with such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word.  Hunter Client leverages the knowledge of the end user.
  • Protects the End User from the Technical Aspects of Data Retrieval
    • Hunter Client protects the end user from all of the technical aspects of data retrieval.  The end user does not need to know SQL syntax, the type of database used, the database location, table and column names, etc.  This gives Hunter distinct advantages over other commercially available tools.
  • Low Learning Curve for the End User
    • Hunter Client uses a drag and drop interface that is easy to learn and apply.  In addition, the user interface is constructed to minimize differences between application types.  This translates to a lower learning curve and much lower training costs.  For example, if an end user knows how to use Hunter Client for retrieving product and order information, they will quickly come up to speed on using Hunter Client for financial information.
  • Help for Code Lookups and Date Formats
    • When setting criteria, Hunter Client can be configured to allow the look up of “codes” (account codes, customer codes, part numbers, etc).  This additional help makes it easier on the end user, no memorizing codes that only have relevance to the system.  In addition, Hunter Client can be configured to reformat dates to the appropriate format for the database in use (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
  • Save Queries for Later Use
    • Any query built by an end user can be saved.  No need to keep rebuilding queries you run all the time.  In addition, Hunter Client queries support “ASK USER”.  This allows a user to be asked to change certain criteria just before a query is run.
  • Share Queries with Other Hunter Client Users
    • Queries can be exported and shared with other Hunter Client users (of the same application).  The exported query can be attached to any e-mail and sent to another Hunter Client user at any location at any time.
  • Post Process Retrieved Data
    • Need to perform calculations and graph retrieved data?  Hunter Client supports the post-processing data via Excel and Word through macros.  Data can be sent to an existing Excel Workbook or Word Document that contains macros.  After the Hunter Client finishes the data retrieval, it will try to run an AUTO_HUNTER macro.  If this macro exists, post-processing is triggered.
